Canbury School Sixth Form  

Canbury School offers a bespoke curriculum to meet the requirements of our students and external candidates who are academically and socially able to undertake post-16 courses, and all within a emotionally and socially supportive environment. The Sixth Form curriculum is a full time, onsite timetable where all subjects are taught, and therapies delivered, as per the student’s needs and/or EHCP. Work experience will be off site and coordinated by an external provider.

Sixth Form students will be taught in small groups for resits and GCSE/BTEC Level 3 courses. Level 2 BTEC courses will be taught in combination with KS4 students.

Students are taught within the purpose built Sixth Form building, which contains tutorial rooms and a common room.

Provisional curriculum for 2023:

  • GCSE resits in Maths and English
  • A Level/ GCE History
  • A Level/ GCE Mathematics
  • BTEC Travel and Tourism Level 2/3
  • BTEC Art & Design Level 2/3
  • BTEC Business Studies Level 3
  • Extended Project Qualification (EPQ)
  • PE/Games
  • PHSE and Wellbeing
  • Enrichment - Students are required to organise and take part in Community, House, Charity events and Assemblies
  • Therapies: SaLT, OT, Literacy
  • Work experience – external provider - students to travel to and from their work experience independently

Places are limited and will be allocated first to current Canbury School Year 11 students.
