My son joined Canbury School at the beginning of Year 10; he previously attended a large senior school which was unable to meet his needs.
From the first time we walked through the door, we knew this was the school that he needed. It may seem an odd observation but Canbury does not look like a school, it looks like a grand house and whilst that should make no difference, it makes a huge difference to pupils who can find a new school a daunting prospect.
The fact that it also limits the number of pupils to 65 makes it a family and that is also important. I am certain that most of the pupils at the school today can name every other pupil and that is very unusual but very nice too.
The quality of teaching at Canbury is first class. Ms Clancy and her team have, and continue to, provide an extremely high level of teaching whilst also making sure the school is a happy and thoroughly unique place of learning and as a parent, you cannot ask for any more than that.
My son has benefitted and continues to benefit hugely from being at Canbury, he has achieved things that he would not have got even close to at his previous school including participating in several sporting activities and being a member of the prefect team.
